One of my biggest pet peeves are the people who pull their boat out just a little bit...and sit at the top of the ramp and piddle with their crap. Yesterday I got so angry...because these people saw us pull in...I got out went to get the trailer and the truck...the trailer is 42' long and the truck is 20 ft dodge dually 4 door...so we NEED SOME ROOM. Well they sit there...they slowly strap up...unload...so..being I am really good at maneuvering the truck and trailer...I squeeze into next to them so I can back in so my husband can drive the boat on the trailer. Yep..I used some not so nice words at them...the woman apparently was horrified that I called them a name for being so inconsiderate. Oh well...MOVE YOUR VEHICLE/BOAT/Trailer up far enough so others can use the ramp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My husband and I have a routine at the ramp..takes us about 3 min or less to get the boat on the trailer....I back in...he drives it on the trailer...he will walk on bow and hook it up and I drive off OUT OF THE WAY to finish doing whatever needs to be done.
Okay...rant done. This happens all the time...so many inconsiderate people.

Well, come on now... be honest.. You and your hubby are the exception.. Most people can't figure out how to back the trailer up let alone get a boat on it.. One of the things I used to do for entertainment was go down to the ramp and watch the boaters launching and recovering boats.. hilarious.. you see everything. The cussing and yelling is endless... especially the husband/wife teams.. The county could charge admission to watch at the boat ramps!

Well we do have patience with those who are trying to get the boat on the trailer..its just the ones who pull up and are inconsiderate. I did see some guy who backed in so fast to dump his boat... his little wife almost got ripped off the pier because she was holding two ropes attached to the boat...There was a guy there when we dumped in who was watching it all...he was impressed with our little routine. Because when we dump in...I back the boat/trailer in with the husband in the boat he drives boat off the trailer then I go park. I can parallel park the truck and trailer or put it anywhere it needs to be. I get some strange stares...and even heard some men comment...omg that's a woman driving the truck...lol My husband just holds up his hands and shakes his head and says Women drivers...lol The longer the trailer...the easier it is to maneuver.

I always try to convince my friends to go over to Sandy Point with a couple of six packs and lawn chairs to watch people launch their boats. Oh, what fun!

best I saw was a fella down at little creek unhook his boat from the trailer, and start backing in. One of his buddy's yelled stop, he hit brakes, and the boat skipped off the trailer on the concrete and was stuck on the ramp. I laughed so hard. They didnt think what I saw was funny, But it was hilarous.

I know. I take my dog down to the boat ramp at Goodhand's Creek and it is very amusing to watch. Launching I hardly see any problems...but getting the boat back on to the trailer and out of the way is another story lol. It's great fun!
