People think be is great because he is one of the best ever at his position. People think he is great because he is one of the best players in Ravens' history. People think he is great because be has done more for the community than most of us will ever do or will ever be able to do.
Why has he paid out millions? Probably because of the litigious society we live in today. Because when something bad happens the first question asked is, "who can I sue?"

He is the greatest linebacker ever, that's why people think he's great. Whatever you may think of him as a person, no one can deny how great of a player he is

Ray is GREAT...he is NOT a murderer....but people have crucified him over and over again based on Circumstantial evidence because they need someone to blame.

Ray has brought the attention to himself with that stupid dance, none of the other great players needed a dance and if it Ray Lewis to get a team motivated then the head coach and staff are not doing there job, and yes he was charged and found guilty of obstruction, and what did ever happen to that white suit, maybe he can wear it in Canton Ohio !

You have to keep in mind that Lewis had a guilty plea in that case to not go to trial in exchange for testimony against his two friends he was with. Grant it his friends were aquittted. Also, Lewis paid the two families to prevent a civil suit. If you were 100% not guilty of a crime would you pay the victims families?

Also, Lewis paid the two families to prevent a civil suit. If you were 100% not guilty of a crime would you pay the victims families? Simple economics. I'm sure it was cheaper for him to pay the victims families than it would be to spend months in court over a civil suit. Remember the burden of proof is much lower in a civil suit. If you've got the money you might as well pay out and move on with your life. This is pretty common I'm surprised someone would equate that with guilt.

The bottom line is there are facts in this story, everything is NOT circumstantial. I am not saying Ray committed the actual crime, but the facts put him at the location and the prosecutor had enough information to make the arrest. No way that can be debated. I agree with Shoreterp in that he is the greatest liebacker of all time, but it stops there for me.
1. Did Ray plead guilty and was on probation - Yes 2. Did Ray accept a plea deal to give testimony against his friends - Yes. 3. Did Ray lie to police - Yes. 4. Did Ray have to pay both families - Yes.

Did Ray accept a plea deal to give testimony against his friends - Yes. 3. Did Ray lie to police - Yes. 4. Did Ray have to pay both families - Yes. You are being deliberately misleading. Ray plead guilty to obstruction of justice. Ray was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and refused to snitch on his friends, hence the obstruction of justice charge. That does not make someone a murderer. Being arrested for a crime has nothing to with guilt, I hope you understand why. Clearly he exercised poor judgement, but that doesn't make someone a murderer and it shouldn't tarnish their reputation for the rest of their life. You make a good point regarding the prosecutor believing they have enough evidence to initially charge Ray Lewis with murder. If you're bringing that up then you must trust their judgement. After more facts came to light they decided that they no longer had enough evidence to charge Ray with murder, hence the plea to a lesser charge. Does Steeler nation have some inside information that the prosecution was not privy to? If you're not saying that Ray committed murder (your words), then what exactly is your point?

Isn't the REAL bottom line here is that it's OVER, it's BEEN OVER. He went through the system, got his punishment, and moved on. It's certainly a shame that some people just can't move on. Is it worth carrying this crap with you? I can't wait for Sunday myself, How about the rest of you's?

Not like Ray Lewis is the only celebrity to have skeletons in his closet.
He has been judged, punished, and served his time. As has plenty of others......
I disagree with the statement that he is the greatest linebacker of all times. I have others that I believe are better (lol)!! ...But he prolly is the greatest linebacker of all times for the Ravens.... he is an awesome player....
and I can't help myself... I can't wait for the game..... I hope it's an awesome games and I hope the Ravens do well!! Good Luck!!! Go Ravens!!
