It looked like a mastiff to me, that I almost hit on kent point road this morning. I pulled off very friendly dog went to nearby houses no one knew who owned him/her. Followed my car while my husband walked in the rain with him/her. Then took off into the woods! Would have taken the very well behaved beast home, but it had a shock collar and dog license tag on. Just hoping it is home now!

If you see it again and you can get it in to your car, take it to Animal Control. They know who owns it by the license number. May have a chip as well.

Tried calling Animal control to see if they would look up number so I could bring the friendly guy home, but they didn't answer or return my call. I would have put the wet, muddy huge dog in my car without a second thought, but as I mentioned I had my husband with me and he didn't like that idea, mainly for dirtying the inside of the car, that's why he was out walking with the dog in the rain for a good hour before the dog took off back into the woods. I was just very worried about the very friendly beast, and hope when he took off into the woods it was back home. Which where he was running there were no houses unless he was headed through the woods towards the bottom of rt 8 as on Kent Point there are no houses on that side of road. I was also looking for a car similar to mine as when I first came across him and almost hit him, he then acted like he knew my car running after it then wanting in it? I don't know just hope he safely made it home uninjured.
