Heard that the Hilton is buying the Jetty to put in a Green Turtle? This would be great if it is true. The Jetty other than the view has really gone down hill. Just my 2 cents.

Would anyone be surprised? Makes business sense for the Hilton... but it would suck if it were true!
The Jetty is the Jetty. Even as crappy as it is, it's better than another run-of-the-mill chain restaurant like the Green Turtle. Those belong on the other side of the bridge or in Ocean City.

It's funny I called the Jetty to see what size all you can eat crabs they had for tonight " We are out of them but have med, large and Jumbo" I asked how much for the Jumbo's $70.00 per dozen. What is the different from AYCE. They are small.. So who do they cater to. NOT THE LOCALS... Time for some go new places that cater to us.

i used to work at the Jetty a few years ago, it has improved a great deal but I still wouldn't go there for fun!
The owners of the Turtle looked at the Jetty a few years back but decided it wasn't a cost effective purchase then they looked over off of Piney Creek at a spot that the Beach Club also considered but nothing ever came of it. My husband used to work at the Turtle and is still friends with Brian H. Apparently it had something to do with the owner of the land that the Jetty sits on. That isn't to say that they haven't reconsidered. The current owners are the same that have holdings in Seacrets in OC and originally had plans of turning it into another Seacrets. I think initially there was something in the legalities with regard to keeping the Jetty name, not too sure what is happening these days though.

That's funny because I heard that the Green Turtle was going to buy Big Bat's from one of the bartenders there. Apparently they already bought the Easton Big Bats. As far as the Jetty goes, it was only a matter of time before the Hilton got pissed off and found a way to get them out. We'll see.

I agree, someone justs needs to spend a little money in the Jetty and give it new life, not turn it into something else! The island needs to retain its local flavor, not a chain mentality.
What's a Hilkton??

Hilton, I didn't have my coffee yet. I spoke with the franchisor for the Green Turtle. Looks like they are not coming over here. The Annapolis location holds the Master for Md and said no. So who knows. But I did here the Island Inn was sold to the Rams Head Chain. Never know around here.

That's a nick name for the Island Inn. They have a reputation for being the place where a lot of fights happen and seedy people go. I've only been there twice and both times there wasn't any problems, but it just wasn't my crowd.

I heard after Isabelle that the folks who own Annie's were interested in the Jetty also. It's a great spot, and with the Hilton, the right atmoshere could be a great place.
Will Ram's Head bring more music?

The hilton/jetty deal didn't go thru. Looks like they are going to remain separate.
