Queen Anne's Conservation Association asked if I would put this in:
For everyone's information, Four Seasons is on the QAC Commissioners' agenda for this Tuesday, April 30 - 7:30 p.m. Meeting is held in Centreville, 107 North Liberty Street. It's been awhile - see below:
As you may know, K Hovnanian-Four Seasons development company will be meeting with our County Commissioners this upcoming tuesday, during a County Commissioner meeting at the Liberty Building. Khov is on the agenda, but it's unclear exactly what their motivations are, or why Commissioner Arentz is giving them time on the agenda...they'll no doubt try create the impression that they're giving Queen Anne's County a big gift with their big development.
My recommendation would be for Kent Islanders to fill the room and express major reservations about the impacts this 1,350 unit development (the largest in Maryland Critical Area history) will cause to Kent Island, and in particular, Castle Marina Road. Sign up to speak during press and public comment. No matter what dog and pony show they put on, a development of this size, complete with over 30 condo type buildings that are 55 feet high, will fundamentally change the look of Kent Island forever. And the traffic? It's hard to imagine.
Time to fill the room and express your concerns about increased traffic and other negative impacts to Kent Island. Get the word out. Tell all of your KI friends and neighbors to come to the Liberty Building this Tuesday evening and oppose the Four Seasons project. It's time for Kent Island to stand up for Kent Island...this is as big as it gets.
