Oh My Chocolate is preparing to launch our seasonal caramel apple wholesale program at the end of this month. We'll be making several thousand apples per week for wholesale clients such as Giant and Whole Foods, in addition to our year-round wholesale production that includes hundreds of pounds per week of our handmade chocolates. This is a very busy time for us and we'll be looking to keep at least one employee on a full-time basis after the first of the year.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: Most of the work for the next several months will be production-oriented. Comfort on the register and customer service are be a huge plus, but our primary needs once these programs start will be production -- topping, packaging, and boxing our products and the preparation and cleanup that come with it. Cleanliness, efficiency, and a strong work ethic are extremely important. Ongoing positions may provide opportunities to assist with our event/catering/corporate sales, social networking, trade shows, and the design of new products.
WHAT WE'RE NOT LOOKING FOR: Frankly, we've had a lot of youngsters looking for jobs that basically wanted to text all day, doing the absolute minimum to pass the time and earn a few bucks. That's what we're trying to avoid. Our business operates with exactly the amount of staff we need, so everyone has to pull their weight. I would LOVE to find a responsible, productive adult looking for a local opportunity to earn a full-time spot with our company.
HOURS/AVAILABILITY: There will be a few positions of 20+ hours per week, and at least a couple full-time (40-hour) opportunities once the seasonal programs begin. The right person will get the hours they want and the money they deserve. We'll move mountains to find and keep great employees. Several of these positions are seasonal and may only extend through the end of this year, but we will be keeping at least one person on a full time, year-round basis. Our company is expanding with the success of these programs, so more ongoing positions may emerge in the next couple of months. There's a real opportunity here for a good, full-time job for the right candidate.
