So do we get a rebate on our taxes for doing the job the COUNTY should be doing with the money we pay in?

Frankf...no...neither. The most you'll get is earning a free QAC Beach Permit for volunteering twice, and the good feeling one usually gets for simply being selfless.

I'll continue to pressure the commissioners to revoke the double tax and to employ workers to do the work that we're currently paying for through our taxes. In the meantime I'll park elsewhere and walk in, or go to a park where there is no additional taxation to visit. ;-)

Frankf...this post is to focus on volunteering to clean the beaches. As much as I understand your frustrations regarding the permits, they are out of my control. I have zero say in the decision making process, and really do not want to discuss them anymore. I am looking for volunteers who, regardless of the permits, are looking to get involved in the community.

Where is the incentive for the COUNTY to perform the duties it should be doing if others are willing to do it for them while paying double taxes as well? Perhaps these efforts should be directed at the sheriff's office and the commissioners to get public works to clean up the parks, perform the maintenance and get them back to where they once were and remove the discriminatory fee imposed to use OUR park.
