Hello! I'm moving my family to the area in August, building a new home in Ellendale. Does anybody have an opinion on Stepping Stone Daycare vs. KinderGarten? I like the fact that Stepping Stone has a long, successful history...but KinderGarten seems very nice too. I drove by Kiddie Academy and didn't like the setting at all.
I will have a 4 year old in full-time daycare and a 1st grader attending KI Elementary who will need before and after care. Any insight is greatly appreciated!!!!

I've had my 5 year old in Kiddie Academy for about the last year and am pretty happy with it. Yes, the outside setting isn't the prettiest when you drive by, because of the surrounding businesses, but the teachers are all very good and attentive, do a good job keep the parents up to date on what's going on in class, and challenge the students. I'm sure the other daycares are nice as well, just wanted to let you know that Kiddie Academy is worth a visit.

We have had our daughter in Stepping Stones since she was 4 months old and she turns 5 very soon. We are very happy with it and would not change a thing about it. I think that they are so successful because the family is there and all of the grandchildren are enrolled. I have no opinion of the other providers, but have heard good things.

You can check on line for their inspection results for both home and centers. This may help you in making your choice. www.checkccmd.org/

We've had our son at Stepping Stone since he was 5 mos. and he is now 19mos. We have been very happy with them, and I agree with the pp, that I think it has to do with it being family-run and the owner is there everyday. I am an elementary school teacher and from what I've seen so far, educationally they are also very sound. I have heard mixed reviews on the Kinder Garden. I would recommend visiting each center and talking to the respective directors. Good luck!

We've had our oldest daughter (6 y/o) at Stepping Stones since she was 4 and our youngest daughter since she was around 4 months old there as well. We have had nothing but positive experiences since our kids have been enrolled. The staff is very friendly and the place is managed very well. Like mentioned above, it's a family owned business and the managers/owners are there every day to make sure everything runs smooth. Our oldest is well beyond the material they are teaching her in Kindergarten and we feel a lot of this is due to the material she was being taught while attending Stepping Stones. She currently attends after school 2 days a week, while our youngest attends 2 full days per week. Tuition is very reasonable, location is great, staff are great, over all we love it!!!

Hey I also lived in Ellendale two years back. There are lots of day care services. You can search on the internet. Now we have been shifted to Phoenix. Now I enrolled my kids in the best Phoenix pre-k.
