Does anyone know what the story is with that eyesore on the corner of Main & Dominion in Chester? That house has been slowly falling down for years and nothing seems to be being done about it.

I think that it used to be a gas station over 20 years ago, then it was just abandoned in true Eastern Shore form. It's become kind of a joke how delapidated properties are just left to slowly let nature reclaim them around here. I have noticed that there is a 'For Sale' sign up at the "Scooby-Doo House" now. That land has got to be worth a lot. The next time that you go by iy take a look at the trailor behind it. That's 10X more creepy than the house!

Lol! Like the farm house by the Main st / Castle Marina Rd circle and the garage off Main St kind of across from the back of Friendly that is almost completely become part of the woods!

The best house is the trailor looking store on Rte 50 about a mile east of the Queenstown outlets. It is cracked in half and has been there for over a year! What's with the shore?!

Wouldn't you think that the land is worth something? Somebody has been paying taxes on that eyesore for over a decade as it slowly rots and becomes more of a hazard.

Lived next door to that eyesore my entire childhood. Have written & called everyone to have it cleaned up. No one seems to want to do anything about it. The owners don't want to sell , just lease. Money is of no concern to them.

My family lived next to that eyesore for all of my childhood. My mother just moved last week after years of contacting everyone to get it cleaned up. No one seemed to be able to do anything, if you can believe that. The owners want to lease it, not sell. Money is not a problem for them, thus the reason they were not made to do anything about it I suppose. It used to be a store & gas station & one day the owners walked out, locked the door & didn't come back.

It's now for sale, seems like time for someone to jump on it and do what they want!

It would but at a million for the property than another million to put up a nice building, not a good investment. That's the problem, sometimes it's cheaper to rent than build.

That property is in a bad location for commercial development. To small for adequate parking. Bad intersection for traffic and entrances.

Not enough population v.s. the cost of the build and property. Besides, Peace Of Cake in Stevensville is great. The only thing that can make it there is a chain rest.

Maybe they will put a mexican or tex-mex place there. Hopefully its not another seafood/steak restaurant. I think we have enough of those around. Don't get me wrong, the seafood places are great...that's why we don't need another one.
