My husband and I moved to Kent Island in June. We are currently using Walgreen's as our pharmacy.
I feel very uncomfortable at Walgreen's because I feel like they are overwhelmed. When I called to fill a prescription at 10:00am and I say I will pick it up after work and I go there at 6:30pm and it still isn't ready, that makes uncomfortable.
We used to use a small mom & pop pharmacy where we used to live and I loved the fact that they knew me by name, pulled by script as I was walking in the door. I was wondering if there was a small mom & pop pharmacy in the area or if someone could recommend a pharmacy what wasn't so overwhelmed. Being open 7 days a week is NOT a requirement but good old fashion customer service is!

Not Mom and Pop, but the CVS has always been accomodating to us.

If you go to Safeway make sure you check what they fill. More than once I got generic vs brand and I needed brand. I wont take anything not made in the US. A lot of the generics they use are from India or China. NO WAY!

I like CVS. I also feel like Walgreens is overwhelmed. When I have come to pick up a prescription in the past, they act like it was just called in instead of several hours earlier. CVS is friendlier, too.

There used to be a mom and pop pharm. diagonally across the street from Walgreens, where the pet store is now. Chains like CVS and Rite Aid I presume made their business not viable anymore. Too bad. We too have always had good service at the CVS here. Good luck

Pharmacies don't like to carry brand drugs if there is a generic. If it costs 500 a bottle and someone takes half the bottle for a one time prescription the rest will remain on the shelf and expire.

This is getting away from the question. Safeway has been my pharmacy for a long time now, and I get the small-town feel there. Aside from the occasional snafu...always hard to tell if it's the doctor'so office or the pharmacy at fault...the staff has been universally helpful, many of them know me by name, etc. etc. a woman at cvs (where my spouse goes) knows us, but she used to be at Safeway!
