From "Thenews.com.pk"
WASHINGTON: Americans have never been more pessimistic about the war in Iraq and say a change in strategy is needed, said a poll.
The poll found that 62 percent of Americans said sending troops to fight in Iraq was an error, while 34 percent still backed the decision.
According to the Gallup organization, which conducted the poll for the US television network, not even during the Vietnam conflict did so many Americans oppose the war.
Fifty-two percent said the situation in Iraq is getting worse, while just eight percent say the situation is getting better.
nly 15 percent of those polled said that the United States would win in Iraq, a new low. Also for the first time, a majority of Americans said that the war has already been lost.
Sixty percent of respondents said that Iraq will never become a stable democracy, and 85 percent said the conflict there qualifies as a "civil war."

You left out the best option. Let our military RUN the war instead of congress and the politicians. Remember Vietnam?
Our military is built to fight, and built to win. It's not built to police a whole country, or to train another army. The politicians will not let the military do their job.
Blame Bush? This is not a one man show. listen to the press and they'll make you think that way.
Those polls are ALL SLANTED, every one of them, heck, I've never been polled, Have you? Just WHO are they polling?
Iraq could be clean in 30 days, Sweep the country- every house, barn, building, shed, shack, & tunnel. Kill everyone who does not come out/comply with the search ON SITE. Secure the country.
THAT'S how you win a war folks. You Don't win with talking. Name me one war the was WON that way. Arabs, Muslims, all of those countries have been fighting for centuries, read the history books. Yeah- we can end it. We (The USA) ARE that good, if we're allowed to be.
WIN the war, send a message to the rest of the world.

I think that Bush is easily the worst President since Johnson, even beating out Carter. He's Lucky that the economy is doing OK and he can pretend that he has something to do with it (even though most know that the President has nothing to do with creating jobs). I voted for Bush the first time around, but I couldn't the second time. Now, with everything overseas so screwed up and the scandals of corruption surrounding his Presidency (Halliburton anyone?), he clearly is a giant loser. It baffles me when I see a "W" sticker on anyones car now. I would do anything to get that off my car so as not to be showing the world that I support this horrible President. I think that the only people that still blindly support him are the hard-core no gay marriage, no stem cells, no abortions Christians. Somehow they see those issues as more important than what is being done to this country. Sad.

Blame Bush? This is not a one man show. listen to the press and they'll make you think that way. IIRC, it was Mr. Bush who told the country that we simply must invade Iraq to get rid of the stockpiles of WMD that Saddam was getting ready to give to the terrorists. Those stockpiles were never found; someone made a big mistake. The Pres. was the one pushing for the invasion, he deserves the credit. Now that we're there, we have to make the best of it; but maybe it wasn't such a wise idea to be there in the first place. Hey, that might work to clear the island of the drug problem! The island is certainly smaller than Iraq, there are only two exit roads to control, and while the boat traffic might be a problem, it could be dealt with too. Kill everyone who doesn't allow you to search/invade their homes and you might reduce part of the traffic problem too. Of course I dont mean that!!! But I also don't support doing things in another country that we wouldn't do in our own. We are supposed to believe that all men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. I was never taught that "all men" meant only those that live within the borders of the US. Call me a bleeding heart liberal or one of the many other names I've heard from the talking heads lately, but I'm a little concerned about some of the details of that message.

War, is it really a War.
What about (The War on Drugs) did the politicians give up on that or did that War not qualify for the absurd amount of money to be spent that they spend now for the War against Terror.
Its a fact that more people die, more families are torn apart and more diseases are transmitted from drugs then the cause for the War in Iraq.
The Presidential Cabinet and the Military are making the American people look like fools.

Thats not a bad idea, I bet it would discurage drug dealers, theives, agressive drivers and a lot more if there was tanks from foreign countries sitting on the street corners around here.
