Rich,
Since so many of us are animal lovers and the past 2 Bay Days have been in support of animal rescues....
Could we have a forum that has photos and info on all of the local pets at ARF, CC&Dogs, QA Shelter and other animals from residents for adoption?

Great idea Lynn- I stopped in to ARF after I voted, to visit Jackson the St. Bernard-his paws are bigger than my hands!!! There are little kittens in there-I had to be dragged away from them, and a black dog that is so shy it was sad-anyway, I am down from 5 cats to 2-and when my oldest goes, i will be getting a dog and def from a rescue-so I think you have a great idea-FWIW-

Sure! The photo's will have to be uploaded to a (free) resource like "Photobucket.com" and you then would paste the image URLs in the Forum page. I'll have an "Animals For Adoption and Fostering" Forum up in a bit.

They are wonderful people that donate their time at ARF, that's where our little Chloe came from almost a month ago. Ann did you see the beautiful 20 year old black cat with the emerald green eyes? She is gorgeous !

Thank you for a wonderful idea, Lynn. And Rich, if there is any way to post the animals from Petfinder.com onto this site, it would show all the pictures of animals at ARF, Chesapeake Cats and Dogs, and the QAC animal shelter. Not only does it show pictures, but there is a brief synopsis about each animal. You have to enter a local zip code, and all the rescue pictures come up, giving the names of the location where they are.

It doesn't seem like that site has any syndication feeds or other way to allow me to post their content. When we do the re-design of Kent Island Online in 2009 I'll see if we can grab content and place it on our main page in a table or something like that. If not that then I can give Chesapeake Cats & Dogs, A.R.F. and the QA Schelter each a small space to upload a picture by basically targeting a picture that is on their own website. Each time that they change the picture on their own site it would change on Kent Island Online and link to thier site for more info. I'm working with a designer on this who knows a lot more that i do when it comes to this stuff...!

Hi Rich, Is there a way that you can keep all of the shelter links/threads at the very top of the Animal forum? This way people can easily pull up the shelters' links.... I don't want the links to get lost at the bottom of all of the threads. Thanks.

How about a thread, one thread with all those links in it? If you make the thread, I'll sticky pin it when you're done.
