Fewer homeowners are planning to remodel this year. According to the spring 2009 remodelormove.com Remodeling Sentiment Report, 68-percent of respondents say they'll probably make some changes to their home, which is a 16-percent drop from last fall's figures and a 24-percent decrease from 2007. The economy is playing a big role in people's plans, with 82-percent of those surveyed noting that their biggest concern about remodeling is the cost. But among those who are planning a project, 52-percent say they're excited about it while only 12-percent admit they're dreading it. Among those remodeling, 55-percent are planning to add a bathroom while 52-percent say they're upgrading their kitchen. Forty-five-percent are remodeling a bathroom. Just over a third of the projects are additions, of either one or more bedrooms or a den. Just under 20-percent are enlarging or adding a garage to their property, while 13-percent are finishing their basement.
