The Baltimore Ravens linebacker, Ray Lewis, became a free agent today. This is the first time in Lewis' 13-year career as a Raven that he is a free agent. Negotiations between the team and Lewis continue but the linebacker reportedly wants to enter the free agent market to test his worth. Since the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship game, Lewis spoke openly about playing for Dallas or New York. He has been ranked in the top-five for available free agents.
(( ;D ))

GAG...its all about money...makes me sick. How many MILLIONS do they need to make to be happy. I am slightly irritated. Ray did make a comment something like: I won't play any less so why should I be paid less. While that makes sense....it still makes me sick all the money they make. Barb

not for nothing & this will sound odd to some of you - I am a Dallas fan - always have been - and as a fan of the Cowboys - would love to have Ray Lewis there - but as a Marylander - it would be weird seeing him play for someone other than the Ravens - I think of the Ravens & think Ray-Ray... so it would be bitter sweet for me...

come on now eine - you have to admit ray lewis & the ravens go hand in hand - but as we come from the same flock when it comes to football - well having him on our side would be PHENOMENAL!!!!

But I WOULD NEVER...EVER.... feel bad about a ANY team outside of the Cowboys losing a star player. and if that player should come to the Boys....even better....
We all know it's just a publicity thing.....he'll sign with them... they just need to make it newsworthy.....

I know I wonder that too...My son (who is 9 and knows more about foot ball then I could ever think of knowing...lol) was screaming how stupid they were to let Bart Scott go... I didn't know that Matt Stover was gone too...geesh...Okay..just told son..who is now yelling things about that...I wish he would focus that much attention to his school work...lolol I am so upset that he found the NFL channel...good grief... Matt Stover isn't a done deal yet, so I guess I'm a little premature in completely writing him off. But news stories suggest that Ravens management isnt very interested in bringing him back.

But news stories suggest that Ravens management isnt very interested in bringing him back. That's pretty much what Scott Garceau said yesterday when he had Stover on the "Scott and Anita" show. I wish they could keep him on till he retires, even if he were just a back-up for whoever they have/may get that is better. I'll still wear my #3 jersey, tho, no matter what! He's been great for the Ravens, to be sure. EDIT: Just read this on wbaltv.com: www.wbaltv.com/sports/18869782/detail.html
