I'm considering taking a job in Baltimore, near Camden Yards. I know there are buses to DC from Kent Island, but I can't find anything to Baltimore. I guess they don't exist. For anyone commuting to Baltimore, how rough of a commute is it?
Thanks!

I don't go that far up 97 but based on my commute I would estimate that if you started up the bridge at 7:15 you would be in Baltimore by 8:00. A few slow spots on 97 and I don't know about inside the beltway.
By far, the toughest part of the commute home would be the Severn River bridge. You could miss that by taking 10 and 2 but I haven't tried that in the evening so it could be just as bad.

From 97, you would most likely take 295 N (95 N is further up the beltway). 295 is busy because there are a lot of people taking it in the morning into the city, but doesn't have the "parking lot" potential that 95 has. I live west of Balt, and can tell you that traffic is congested all over during commuting hours. The worst parts are the outer loop of the beltway going to 95 south in the morning (like you're coming from Towson to Glen Burnie) and the reverse in the evening. 95 also gets crazy going into Baltimore in the a.m. and away from it in the p.m., too.
KI Dad, you might just want to try doing a "trial run" one day, if it's a possibility? That would give you an idea.

when I use to work at Maryland General Hospital I think it only took me an hour. From kent island estates, I can get to millersville in 1/2 and I think its only 15 - 20 minutes to get to the convention center.

Thanks everyone. I think I will try to "test run". I didn't want to start seriously considering the job and then find out that the commute would kill me.

I thought I read recently that MTA was discontinuing a bunch of the bus service (cost-cutting). I could be very wrong, tho'.

Depending upon timing figure about ~1 hour up and up to ~1.5 hours back. If you leave early you can probably reduce that...I didn't have the luxury.
getting in/out of the city is normally not bad as most would think. I went 97N-695-295
Issues on the way back were 695 heading to I97South which seem to booger up things on the way home.
The commute is doable and I did it for about a year. Factor in cost of parking though.
