Sorry, this is not Sheriff or other police stuff. For those of you that may not be keeping up on world affairs. North Korea detonated a nuclear bomb on Monday (2nd time) and has launched several missiles over the past couple of days. The UN Security Council issued a message condemning the action and said they will be working on additional resolutions against NK.
South Korea had stated that it will take part along with other nations an attempt to block any and all shipments of arms in and out of NK. This has sparked NK to declare these actions as a declaration of war and that it will no longer abide to the treaty that ended conflict of the Korean war in 1953. Saber rattling.....you bet. Serious situation.....definetly.
Can they launch a nuclear missile and threaten the United States, no. Nuclear weapons falling into the hands of radical terrorist groups is a major concern though.
Where is all this going, I have no idea. But, I do know that China could and has the power do something about this and put a stop to it if they wanted. We have no leverage over China because we are up to our a$$ in debt with them and we let it happen.

Sorry, this is not Sheriff or other police stuff. I'm only sorry that these stories are not covered enough in the press, we hear more about American Idol and Brittany's underwear. This stuff can get carried away. It's real. Could be scary for sure, especially the way our new leader is coddling to these other countries..... flame on.....

On the plus side, Russia and China aren't quite so quick at this point to be snuggling up to the NK whack job. (Not saying they are backing off him totally, but wow, even they have to be wondering WTH? ). What scares me more is the potential (as noted by mj) of nukes falling into the hands of folks who are even more radical and scary. (I know, like it's not frightening enough to have a leader of a country going totally off the deep end....). But having access is awfully tempting to a country that is sunk in poverty up to their eyeballs and able to trade weapons for food, etc.

Just read more news on this...appears the U.S. secretary of defense says this isn't a problem....WOW!!! So lets count...Nukes detonated, missles being launched and threats of war delcaration....Israel wants to invade Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan are off the hook, previously released Gitmo detainees are now found to have rejoined the Taliban and other various terrorist organizations per CIA reports.....the taliban has resurfaced BIG TIME in the Middle East.......things are about to get much, much worse me thinks. Historically the only thing that can cure a global recession is a global war. And our Government says everything is okee dokee... Strap in folks...it's gonna be a looooong ride.

Let's see..not too hard..Holy Wars, Jihad, and beheadings. Oil tycoons gouging us for all we have...Car bombs and children taught to hate the U.S. from the earliest possible age. Of course there is the good side...............Probably time to pull out of there and tighten our own $hit up...or just start taking some oil to offset our war debts.

You can get the details yourself.....North Korea has announced that they are going to weaponize their nuclear material following the recent announcement by the UN Security Council.

You can get the details yourself.....North Korea has announced that they are going to weaponize their nuclear material following the recent announcement by the UN Security Council. They most likely have been doing that, or at least working toward that all along. There's probably two factors in their decision to go public. By making the announcement after the UN resolution, it's an ego boost, making them feel like they are standing up to the world. The other factor is cost. It's cheaper and faster to do it in the open, instead of trying to conceal their work.

I know, Kim Jong Il is serious and all, but I can't help but think of this whenever I think of him:
From South Park's "Team America".
