Man shot at party on Kent Island Published 06/29/09
GRASONVILLE — A Prince George’s County man was in serious but stable condition after being shot early yesterday morning at a party, the Queen Anne’s Sheriff’s Office said.
Deandre Ackree, 18, of Waldorf, who had been staying with relatives near Ridgely, was shot while standing with a group of people outside the Community Center in Grasonville around midnight yesterday, authorities said.
Officers were called to the scene of the shooting for reports of fireworks or gunfire around midnight, but found no one in the area when they arrived. Shortly after clearing that scene, the sheriff’s office received a call from Easton Memorial Hospital reporting a man seeking treatment for gunshot wounds.
Police went to the hospital and found Ackree with wounds to his right calf and left knee. He told deputies he fell after being shot then jumped in a car to flee the scene. He said a man and a woman took him to the hospital.
Deputies reported seeing two men covered in blood when they arrived, but when they went to question them a few minutes later, they had left the hospital.
Ackree was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for surgery to repair leg fractures.
****NOTE****
Thankfully there was one reader that kindly pointed out that Grasonville is NOT Kent Island.

****NOTE**** Thankfully there was one reader that kindly pointed out that Grasonville is NOT Kent Island. And...........what may I ask does this reference infer, that there are more issues in Grasonville than Kent Island - I beg to differ if that is the inference. Maybe the shooter was from KI

I just didn't want some areas of the 'hood to be confused with some less desirable areas. I still feel the love, and thanks for 'splainin".

Now Shadow.. you know better.. you know those "Island" folk don't like to be associated with the lesser people living on the other side of that there Kent Narrows bridge. It so "gross" and "hood" here. Cause we all know (sarcasm) that things on the "Island" (in a historical sense) are all wonderful and there is noooooooooo crime.

It's a sad state of affairs when a fun loving guy came to Kent Island for some of Frank's shots, and then got lost in Grasonville. Them parts of town will put some in a serious condition. Don't know what happens, when some cross over to leave the Island ;D

Waldorf is in Charles County, not PG Grasonville.....Kent Island? Sounds like the whole story needs some review.
