Thinking about putting a new restaurant here on the island. People told me this would be a good place to get ideas. It's going to be a cross between Hawaiian and key west (jimmy buffet style)
Going to have sushi, a la carte fish menu , shrimp sticks, fresh tuna ........ $6-$20 range big bar cool drinks
...................
yeah? ney?

I'd say yeah. A good sushi place would be nice to have.
Will the atmosphere at your place be different than what we have here currently?

We could really use a good authentic Mexican restaurant, with good margaritas.... Sushi would be nice also.

I'm all for a "Jimmy Buffett" style restaurant!
In case no one has heard, Lisa's Small Plates has sushi on Sunday's now. Hopefully they can get a good response and make it a regular part of their menu.

I talked to Brian at Lisa's and the sushi thing is only a sunday thing. It takes up too much room & time in the kitchen to do it on a busy day. The Shrimp Tempura roll (not remembering what they call it) is excellent! Worth a try.

The Sushi thing on Sundays is good to know. Thanks
As for the new restaurant, would love to have a fun place with cheap fried seafood. Angler's was that place, and now we have nothing of the sort.

Maybe post a poll to see what people would frequent. That would give you an idea of which type of foods people would be looking for. I wouldn't go to a sushi restaraunt, but that's just me.

Caribbean, Key West, Hawian, Mexican, anything but pub food and maryland seafood. Big cool drinks would be great, the Narrows is the only place to get like summer frozen drinks, but hey don't really have a GOOD liquor selection. Also a style to the place, all the places here are regular old pubs.

Jimmy Buffet style music would be cool, but I would rather go there to drink. I would love a really good taco restaurant.

The Shrimp Tempura roll (not remembering what they call it) is excellent! Worth a try. Rich, I believe it's called the Twice Fried Shrimp Tempura Roll and it is excellent. Had that tonight along with another one that had chicken, lump crab, and artichoke hearts, it may be called the Chesapeake Bay Roll. It was good as well although the Japanese mustard sauce served on top was a little too on the spicy side for me. It would be excellent without the mustard sauce and dipped in soy sauce with a little wasabi mixed in. Can't wait to go back on another Sunday and try a couple more!

I'm sorry, and I like Lisa's, but if they are putting chicken in a sushi roll, thats just not sushi, that's gross. It would need to be real sushi, none of this wacky cooked, fried food just good RAW seafood.

According to Keri, they needed to find a way to americanize their sushi menu. Isn't sushi with raw fish called sashimi, that's not what there are offering? Go to any sushi place and you'll find such items as a Shrimp Tempura Roll as well as plenty of other cooked items.

Sashimi is the raw stuff and Maki is the rolls. I prefer Maki myself. I haven't tried Lisa's yet, I just always forget that they are there.
