From WNAV:
The Environmental Protection Agency says it's putting the Chesapeake Bay on a pollution diet. The federal agency used the Twitter social networking site to "tweet" the message Friday to its followers on the site. The message tells followers to "See our new Web site about the Chesapeake Bay's innovative TMDL "pollution diet." TMDL stands for total maximum daily loads, the limits it is developing for various pollutants in the watershed. President Obama has ordered the EPA and other agencies to develop a bay restoration strategy. Obama's order requires federal agencies to submit draft reports by Sept. 9.

If they would electronically MONITOR and RECORD all discharges into the bay and it's tributaries the whole state and federal gov't would be totally embarassed at the results.
Take the human factor out of testing and sampling what goes into the bay.
You can't clean it up until you stop dumping into it.

I hear ya! Even if it is dumping floor wash into the toilet, throwing car wash solution on a yard, it all matters! What is the solution to get rid of these products. I wash our cars, wash the floors, etc. in our home.
Environmentally speaking, what is the best way to dispose of these pollutants? I welcome all responses.
Thanks, -cg

Make the Bay a National Park...That will keep out the polluters slapped with a hefty fine as well as the chicken farms that need monitoring.. Its probably the only thing that would nix the ICC...InterCounty Connector, one of the biggest run off polluters in MD.

When I used to take the boat into Baltimore, there were huge pipes dumping junk in the bay on the weekends. We always found that odd at that time. Legal, illegal, who knows?

I would like to think it was water used to cool engines or something like that, but why on the weekends? Is it because EPA is not working on the weekend? Is it easier to dump toxic waste when everyone has gone home?
