Q.A.Co. Assistant States Attorney John Mark McDonald was ticketed for driving 77mph in a 55mph zone in Easton on Rt#50. McDonald has no trouble prosecuting dangerous seat belt violators. Apparently 22mph over the posted speed limit is not as dangerous in his mind.......GOOD JOB TROOPER BATH. Lets hope the Judge has the ba _ _s this Trooper displayed. Trial date is 10/07/09.

Sure, people speed, but 22 mph over the speed limit? In an area where even 10 mph over the speed limit could result in the death of others because it does not allow enough reaction time on the part of the speeder? And, on a school day.....
I see by looking at the public record that this was presumably done while on duty. This means that, in addition to whatever criminal penalties he is subject to, that also at the very least he is subject to reprimand as it relates to his employment as Queen Anne's County's Deputy State's Attorney.

In an area where even 10 mph over the speed limit could result in the death of others If you're not driving properly, even the speed limit can kill you or others. I once heard an awesome quote. It was from an obscure comedy about racing, but I think it holds some water. "55mph is unsafe." says the driver "Its boring" says the passenger "That's why it's unsafe. It is fast enough to kill you, but slow enough to make you think you're safe."

You know, I've been trying to figure if this thread was sarcastic or ironic in some manner. It's very unlike you, Pete. Are you feeling OK? Have you been beaten with a nightstick lately? What's up?

Hey Pete, it may be because you tilt the scale usually in a direction everyone is accustomed to - however, in this case you had two directions you could go - poll lease or a county official (if you will).
Your mood today was to side with the poll lease, and for a change I have to agree with you - I must be losing my sanity ;D

hawkeye.......I posted many times that the good cops far outweigh the bad, but that they need to speak up against the bad. Cops will tell you that their hands are tied. TRUE. However, their hands are tied due to the actions of the bad cop.
