Just got an email about a KI Commuter Bus accident on 50 this morning? Details are scetchy at the moment, but heard that one person was taken to the hospital.
I hope everyone else is ok, Has anyone else heard or see anything!
I don't know if it was 950 or 922, but do know it wasn't my bus!!

I passed it shortly after it happened. I didn't notice which bus it was because I was staring at the black Cavalier that was WHOMPED! The car must have pulled in front of the bus and the bus took the side off the car. Traffic was starting to back up as I passed by. It was going to be a long, crappy ride for a lot of people.

Yea, looked like the cavalier made a bad decision to move into the HOV lane in front of the bus. 40 minutes late for work this morning

Yea, looked like the cavalier made a bad decision to move into the HOV lane in front of the bus. 40 minutes late for work this morning It's a regular thing. I use the HOV lane everyday, and as soon as the traffic slows, some idiot will jump out in front of me alone in his car. He doesn't realize I'm doing 60mph and he is starting from a stop. Oh, and then he flips me off for coming up on his rear bumper so fast. Where are the cops when you need one?

I hear ya Frank, we see it everyday and you're right, usually one person in the car.

I hear ya Frank, we see it everyday and you're right, usually one person in the car. One person in the car, and dozens of them in the HOV lane everyday. When you do see a cop, they shuffle like cockraoches back in to the right lane. Every now and then I see someone pulled over. At $250 a pop, it seems like it would be a good revenue maker.

Yeah, I guess its not very safe to be cruising the speed limit right next to stopped cars in traffic. There is the chance someone could pull out.
Any suggestions on how to make it safer?
I drive slower with the preparedness of someone pulling out in front of me. But if someone has a better way please let me know how I can speed up the commute.

Carpool, take the commuter bus, metro, whatever, if all the "onesies" would pile up, less cars to tie up in traffic!! Just a suggestion! I know some have no choice, but they are a very small percentage.... as most who choose to drive alone, could very well find a commuter buddy.... JMO....Oh and if your a onsie....stay out of the HOV lane...that really just irritates me when I see that..... Just want to run you down and run over you.... Yep...never see the cops when you need them..that's for sure!!

Anybody know if any of the buses run to SE by the new stadium and the Navy Yard? I think the bus would give me an extra hour of sleep each day. None of the buses seem to go any further south than Independence.
And yes, when traffic is slow you can't drive 65 in the HOV lane. Someone WILL pull in front of you and can't be cruising that fast. But even at 50mph, it's hard on the brakes when someone pulls out.

I had the bus driver that was in the accident this morning, and he said that the guy who caused the accident, was single driver, talking on his cell phone and jumped in the HOV lane cause the other lanes were slowing down, didn't even look.....
Don't know how bad he was hurt, the FD had to pull him out of the car, which was totaled....
The bus driver did everything he could to avoid it, but sometimes you just can't....
