What do you think of Acorn and their latest mess and former messes?

Is there something new since the mess that was being broadcast in the middle of September?
I was in Vegas at the time, and of the 10 channels that I got in my hotel room, Fox News was the most entertaining. Its all they could talk about.....that and the "Obaminus Interuptus".

I think it is absurd Acorn is trying to sue the journalists who filmed them in Baltimore. At first the CEO praised the journalists for busting the "bad" workers and now she wants to sue. I personally take issue with the legalities of the audio taping. I do not think they had an expectancy of privacy in the conversation, there were several people in the room in an Acorn office. More Maryland Tax Dollars going to waste for this lawsuit. Last I checked it was illegal to import young teenage girls from other countries to use as prostitutes and lie to the government about it.

So you want to prosecute the journalists for human trafficking, prostitution, and fraud?

Please reread my post then get back to me if you still do not comprehend it.

The lawsuit stems from MD's law regarding two-party consent to taping communications. Pretty ironic that they are suing based on the "extreme emotional distress" experienced by the two workers who were taped (uh...I'd think they should have been more distressed by their "questionable actions"). The journalists who taped their interaction with ACORN could be in trouble w/ MD law. I don't know if the AG has decided to pursue criminal charges or not. The law is there to protect us all, but I'd say ACORN is pushing it when you consider the behavior of their former employees.

I thought the law was pertaining to an expectation of privacy in a private conversation and it should not apply in this instance. I hope the AG comes to the same conclusion.

Please reread my post then get back to me if you still do not comprehend it. I don't drink coffee and was wide awake. Your post is very clear right up to the last sentence. The only people suggesting that young girls be imported and used for prostitutes were the journalists. The journalists contacted ACORN for advice on how to get a loan, not the other way around. The journalists claimed to have broken the law and were asking for advice on how to continue breaking it. The advice the ACORN employees gave was certainly distasteful and improper but it was only advice. I guess I didn't (and still don't) know what point you were trying to make with your final sentence.

Acorn gave them advice on how to lie to the government, how to do illegal acts and get away with it, how to mask the prostitution, how to claim prostitutes as dependents and how to take advantage of the government. Acorn should have known better.
