That's really wonderful that you have been reunited with your little dog! How on earth did you find her? Maybe you could share how the two agencies you mentioned helped out in your search - it would probably be a real heart-warming story for all of the animal lovers on our forum. Again, that's wonderful news!

I kept hoping you would find her--A lady came through my neighborhood and handed me her card --I live in Claiborne Woods--and was out with my dog. I have been keeping my eyes open for her--so glad to hear a good ending--how did you find her ! ? I hope someone had taken her in --give her big kisses from us !!!

Hi everyone, thank you so much for all of your thoughts and prayers!! Well we lost Mia on Wed 10/7/09 and she came home on 10/10/09. I cannot believe that foofoo dog had been in the woods for 3 days. By Friday morning I was so distraught that my little one had been gone, not knowing where she was was KILLING me!! Somehow I came across this wonderful service called dogsfindingdogs.com. I emailed them and asked for help, they were more than happy to lend a helping hand, they called us friday night and gave us some really great tips and advise. They ended up coming out Saturday morning and bringing Lee a coonhound, Janel his handler was wonderful and extremely understanding. Brian walked, sometimes ran thru the woods with Janel and Lee following Mia's scent. Lee definitely let Brian know that Mia was still in the woods, where ever I had walked she was walking my same trail trying to find us and come home. Thank god Bridgepointe neighborhood has a pond because thats where she was getting her water. After Janel and Lee left Saturday afternoon, I came home and was getting ready to go into the woods to find my Mia and our neighbor ran up and banged on our front door yelling to Brian to go out back. Brian ran to the back door at the same time to see Mia running back into the woods. He ran after her, she stopped and jumped into his arms, I came running into the woods and just broke down when I saw her, she was so excited to see me. I think I may have pushed my neighbor out of the way to get to her...oops We came back to the house, she immediately drank and ate, then away we went to the emergency vet in Annapolis. Luckily she was in perfect health, need less to say she was covered in ticks so they dipped her and picked all of them off. We have to have her checked in several weeks for Lymes, but right now she is perfect! She runs around like nothing ever happened. Were very fortunate to have a happy ending to this story. I cannot begin to explain how I felt for those 3 days, we got Mia last September because we had to put our Molly (shih tzu) to sleep. We had only had her for alittle over a year and then to loose her so soon was just tragic to me, im so extremely happy that she's home safely. Thank you again so much! Jessica

You might want to put her on some antibiotics to possibly prevent the lymes if she has been bitten by an infected tick. If she was on flea and tick medicine before she went missing she has a better chance of being okay. Even an antibiotic for 3 days if taken shortly after exposure can prevent the disease. I have heard of other services to locate missing pets that call everyone on the phone in your area, I think they charge about $150. I am glad you got her back. If only she could talk and tell you how she spent the 3 days.
