Alaska news seems to be more prevalent now then in the past, probably due to Palin. But, that's not what this is about. Alaska residents are getting their annual oil royalty checks, though a little less this year.....about $1300 total for every resident that has lived in the state for a year. Good for them I guess.....
I was wondering, does any other state in the country give a royalty to residents for some type of natural resource or commodity that is sold to other Americans in the country. I couldn't find any info, but maybe there is. Marylanders don't get a check for crabs or oysters. Lumber states, coal mining states, maple syrup states.....you get my drift here. It's commerce within the whole country right.
So does anyone know of a royalty type check giving to residents from living in any other state?

I could be wrong but I believe it was Sarah Palin that got the money for the citizens of her state. www.associatedcontent.com/article/1004592/what_sarah_palin_has_done_for_alaska_pg2_pg2.html?cat=49And for those of you that will not open the link and read it, here is a quote. As if she didn't have the majority of the states votes hook line and sinker like only an Alaskan fishermen can do, Palin pushed for energy assistance rebates in 2008, which were later approved, awarding all state residents eligible for the states dividend that year an extra $1200.00 in addition to the estimated $2100.00 record breaking result of increased oil sales. This move to share Alaska's new wealth with Alaskans was yet another brilliant, community minded move for Palin.

If you were born and raised in Kuwait, you get a big check from oil sales. Of course, Iraq occasionally comes in and kicks your a$$. American Indians get checks from the Indian run casinos. Some as high as $250,000/yr.

The program was started years ago but she was responsible for the energy resource rebate which was added into the fund last year. It increased it to almost $3300 per person.
