OMG - I had not heard about this. I saw them in concert about 12 or 13 years ago at the Lyric in Baltimore. One of the best shows ever!!! They were one of my all-time favorite groups and I keep their greatest hits CD in my car. Sad, really sad.

For me personally, most of the performers that pass are little more than an "oh, wow..they died, huh?". I take exception for a few. Mary Travers is one of the few. Growing up, Peter, Paul & Mary were names I knew better than some of my relatives' names. I have seen them in concerts, on television, read books they have written, and they are incorporated into the fabric of my life. Although I might have disagreed with Mary on certain issues, I respected her for several things. First, she was wonderfully talented woman; second, she was among the first women I ever saw that were "strong" women - you know, spoke their minds, stood up for what they believed in, were passionate and outspoken and without apology. She held true to what she believed in, in the face of threats, ridicule and persecution. No one could accuse her of being supermodel material, but I always thought she had an inner beauty that shone through that was breath taking.
I truly, not cosmetically, will miss her. My prayers go to her family and friends.
