He was on the news talking about how he had breast cancer. They said it was a rare breast cancer, not sure if they meant a certain type or it was rare a man had it. Looks like everyone needs to check for lumps and bumps.

I think it was more that it is because it is very rare for a man to get it, but don't quote me. I'm glad he chose to share his story (what I read was that he is now cancer-free) because most folks don't realize that men DO get breast cancer. SOOOOO....in light of the fact that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, guys, make sure you are keeping "abreast" of your health, in addition to the ladies! ;D My mom was a survivor (she almost made it to her 13th year before succumbing last July), so ya know this is one of my "personal" interests!

Sorry to hear about your mother. Thanks! She fought the good fight and didn't give up. She was very supportive of other survivors, sort of a mentor to women who were diagnosed and needed someone to talk to. She survived 2 different types of breast cancer, and that says alot about the advances in cancer treatment today. She is one of my heroes.

Richard Rountree from "Shaft" is also a breast cancer survivor.
