I got word from a phone technician that Cracker Barrel is coming, they have been working out at the site to move phone lines to accommodate the new store. They have site plans and surveys to prove plans in the works. They are paying big bucks to move a phone box away from where the entrance is supposed to be. So go figure ?

I read the other threads and took it upon myself to email the company and I got the same response as the others..that there is no plans in this area... But when I talked to the tech he said he had to cut the lines off to the trailer park and is in the process of moving the green pedestal. He has the blue prints and the order from cracker barrel to do so. I even told him about the threads and the emails and he had the PO to move the lines. He told me how it was going to be layed out, where the entrance is going, the issue with Krotivals(spelling) property line, the buffer between anchorage...so like I said earlier...WTF?

WTF is right. That doesn't make any sense. Why would Cracker Barrel lie about new construction.

I have some old sleds, rods & reels and some bevelled oak hearts that say "I love you berry much".
Think they will buy any of our old crap for their decor?

Hahahaha! Yea, that place (CB) would make Fred Sanford proud!! And as far as "home style food"? LMAO Only if you use prepackaged, frozen and pre-prepared mixes and foodstuffs at home...well..then again if you do...why pay them to serve it to you? That place and all places like it are a scab on the face of restaurants as a whole. Here's a suggestion...don't go to CB and expect good food. Don't expect a 4-star dining experience, yet alone a 2 star. Oh..if you get the opportunity, speaking of stars...ask your waitperson what the little stars on their aprons mean...and prepare to laugh your butt off. Don't expect them to treat their employees fairly and pay them well. Don't expect crap from them except to attract every flippin tourist within 100 miles that believes Cracker Barrel is Real Country Cooking for the "experience". Oh..and don't forget to buy the cheap junk in their gift shop that is made in China that they have marked up 300%.
I'm still praying for the earth to open up underneath it and swallow it whole.

We always find them kind of a neat place to stop when we travel. They always have unusual items in the store part.
Actually we have found that the food is usually pretty good. Guess you can get a bad meal at any place.

Never had a bad meal or bad service at any Cracker Barrel.
What's the scoop SG? You sound like a disgruntled former employee..

Yea whats the scoop on crackle barrel, Also whats the scoop on the Kratovil's, do they have an issue with it coming here. I live in Anchorage and I think where the main entrance is supposed to be is in the HOA Presidents back yard. Strange things have been going on here in Anchorage, no communication from the President or any of the other Board members except for the HOA dues notice. I would love to know where our money is going but we cant get any responses from the Board. Hopefully they will all be replaced this year. Politics always manipulates things in the best interest of the politicians, its said. If Kratovil has a problem with Crackle Barrel that would surprise me. The Kratovil's dont seem to have any problem with the wetlands in front of there house being cut down constantly to improve the view of the water. The Kratovils dont seem to have any problem with the privacy or security issues with the new trail ten feet behind the houses in Anchorage on Thompson Creek Road. Kratovil's is that a politician?
Sorry for the rambling, I'm just a disgruntle resident of the Anchorage community.
Lets here the scoop, I new I should of asked them what they where doing at that phone junction box the other day.

To tell you the whole scoop would be to fill three pages up of this forum with the facts that I know about CB. The main scoop? I wouldn't eat there if they had the last food on earth. The corporation is full of slime, they work their poor people LITERALLY to death and those that don't die...they screw over royally. Did I work there? Yep. When I was putting myself through college. Did I wind up telling the District Manager not only to go to hell but the various routes he could take to get there? Yep. Apparently the color of the buttons on my white button-down shirt (TAN) stood between me and my whopping nickle an hour raise. Oh..yea...I told him what he could do with that nickel too. They killed one of my friends because they wouldn't let her take a break....to go get her nitro. The manager said we were in the middle of "The Rush" and she could go have her little "play time" later. They lost a lot of money when they had to stop waiting on tables and let the ambulance guys come in to try to save her. They screwed over my best friend of 20 years who was the gift shop manager for CB at one of their biggest and most profitable stores. She had the nerve to be diagnosed with MS. What they did to her....was criminal at best. They are no better than McDonalds. They even stole the concept. Every CB has the exact same food and the exact same menu as every other CB... It's all pre-packaged, pre-mixed, premade and/or frozen. And as far as the junk in the gift shop? Look at www.abcdistributing.com, oriental traders, etc...that's where they go to get a bunch of their stuff. They won't support local businesses because they want to "keep the stores uniform". Hate em? You betcha.

Well, I gave my kids the advice that I learned as a kid working retail. It's only a job and not much of one, and there's plenty more of them out there. Don't get stuck in one as none of them will take you anywhere.
People put themselves in those positions and let people walk on them. If someone knows they need nitro or another critical medication there's not a manager/boss/co-worker that could keep me from it. Most of the retail managers I know are mostly morons that can't get a better job, and can't hold a job.
Amost all restaurants use the froxen/pre packed food and treat their help that way.

Well, I don't go to the ones I know do that for a fact, thankfully I don't have to. To me, Cracker Barrel is one dead dear head and a few rusty pots away from a truck stop.
My cooking beats theirs any day of the week. I have references. And for those of you out there that are wittily asking, "Well, SG..why don't you open your own restaurant?", plain and simple it's not my cup of tea, that's why.
I prefer to go to unique restaurants that actually have something to offer that I can't get at home.
It's more than obvious that type of establishment has a loyal customer base. More power to em. I am just not among that number.

Little do we all know.. or maybe we do.
Even those "mom and pop" resturants all use boxes, cans and delivery service.
