Some girl friends and I met there the other week for drinks and a snack. We ordered the sampler platter you wont be disappointed. It came with wings, mozz sticks, rock fish tenders and fried pickles. The portions were great! Wings were nice and meaty. The fried pickles were AWESOME. I don't know anywhere else on the island where you can find fried pickles. If you have not tried them you should. Beer was good also nice and ice cold. ;D

Big Owls has good Bloody Mary's too. Great to go on a Saturday or Sunday early to go look at the water and have a Bloody Mary, before the crowd rolls in.

My husband and our friends went to the Big Owl's when it first opened and we will never go back! We were there for 3 hours (came in on our boat) and we couldn't have been treated worse. As we were leaving people were complaining of the fumes (we have a frickin Sea Ray), and then one of the bouncers said we could have at least spent some money. We actually spent 300.00 dollars (4 adults, 3 kids). The old owners were so much better. Whether you were on a boat or land, they treated everyone wonderfully. Now, I guess it's great to be by the water, but as long as you drive! And the food isn't that great!

if you think I'm lying, I'm not, it was someone who worked for them and they accused us of not spending any money! We showed them the check and they just shrugged their shoulders. Maybe it wasn't a bouncer, but it was DEFINITELY someone who worked there. You can't make stuff like this up. We used to go there all the time when it was the Shanty, whether on the boat or driving, now I just pass by and say ughhhh....
