There are many cats at CCAD in need of homes (35ish currently). I thought I'd write a little bit about some of them. Maybe you aren't currently looking for a cat, but one of these may change your mind... ;D
Nutmeg is a buff-colored tabby kitten around 7 months old. He looks like an Oriental Shorthair; he's got a very Siamese build. He's very affectionate, *loves* sitting on laps, and enjoys playing as well. He's good around other cats, doesn't get scared of them easily--even though he's very small in comparison. He's one of my personal favorites; it's a joy seeing him every week!
Cinnamon is a young light orange tabby with an Oriental build. He's a little bit shy, but very affectionate once you get to know him. He also likes to play and is fine around other cats.
Basil is also a young orange tabby. She's part of the group I think of as the "Utility Room Cats": she and her sisters Molly (a stunning tortoiseshell) and Rosie (a white and dark grey tabby) often curl up with their mother Lola in the utility room. The four of them are often together, enjoying each other's company. All three of the kittens enjoy cuddling and playing, though Rosie seems partial to playing and Molly seems partial to cuddling. Basil is somewhere in the middle. (Picture, from left to right: Lola, Basil, and Rosie)
Then there's Jasmine, a large white and grey kitty who's always up for some attention.
There are a few other food-named cats I'd like to share: Oatmeal, Butterscotch, Alfalfa, and Licorice.
Oatmeal looks and acts a lot like Cinnamon, but she's a lot less shy.
Butterscotch is another young orange tabby, but he's completely orange and spotted with bright gold eyes. He's very affectionate (often following me around the center asking for more attention) and also enjoys playing.
Alfalfa is a small orange and white tabby whose coloring reminds me of an orange creamsicle. He's also friendly and enjoys playing.
Licorice is a long-haired black kitten who is very, very snuggly. He'll look up at you with his big green eyes while he purrs in your lap...
