Anybody know if a bus, van, or whatever goes to SE DC by the navy yard or new baseball stadium? I checked vanride.com, and they don't have anthing. None of the buses go that far south. I can't believe none of the transportation companys go that way.

I imagine if you wanted to do the bus thing you would have to get off and take the metro...somewhere....

I imagine if you wanted to do the bus thing you would have to get off and take the metro...somewhere.... It just seems like there are thousands of people working within a few hundred yards of my office, I can't be the only one from Kent Island. If I got to take the bus, then catch a train or another bus, it's not worth the hassle or extra expense. Even the vanpool said they have limited interest in areas south of the Capitol.

Wonder why that is? And your right, there are tons of people all down in that area.... Have you tried Commuter Connections and see if there is a van pool down in that area from even Annapolis area... (how that grandbaby?)

I used to work near the WNY yard (80M - by the stadium). I've been asked to work there again. But haven't found a good route in yet. The 922 to Navy/Archives seems the best..but that still isn't that great.

The 922 to Navy/Archives seems the best..but that still isn't that great. Maybe we could start our own vanpool. First, get a van. I'll jump in and off we'll go! Seriously, I'm probably going to lose my commuter soon. Let me know if you are going back. Maybe we could talk.

Yeah - it won't be until this spring before I make that commitment. I've had to make that commute a few times..and so far...I've taken the 950 to China Town and jumped on the metro to WNY.
I really REALLY am trying to avoid driving...so, maybe I can buy the van and you can drive it everyday ;-). If I make the leap - I'll let you know.

I see them at the NY, but none heading to Kent Island. Switching from bus to Metro just outweighs the hassle of driving myself. I don't mind driving as long as I can get in the HOV lane.

Still haven't committed to working there full time. But I've done the trek a few times on the 950 and getting off a C-Town and taking the metro.
For me, it works. It isn't that bad. Then again, I am used to taking the 950 all the way to Foggy Bottom and jumping the metro for one stop. But the bus/metro to SE is about 1:20 all together.
