;D
Sooooo.... who all goes to the movies? And what do you spend usually? May I offer something else fun to do for a date, a family, groups...etc?? My name is Lee and I have this very cool little studio next to the Garden Hilton Inn on Hwy 18 in Grasonville. We've been here approx. 6 months and would like to be here longer... Let me tell you how I got here.
My husband and I bought a big boat in Trappe to fix up and sail the world with. After working on her on weekends driving from Cincinnati and back, we set a date to get serious and down to business with the boat. march 28th, 2003 we left our apartment in Cincy and drove the usual 10 hours to Trappe. After being here a day, my husband told me he had a girl friend, (from the internet), that he didn't want to do the boat thing and the boat was mine. he then took off back to Cincy, leaving me behind with this monstrous project of an old boat to fix up. With very little money in my wallet, I put an ad to pull weeds in the Star Democrat and was inundated with weed pulling work. I survived on that for 3 years but had to have something over the winter months. I found a job as a receptionist and worked for a wonderful man and his firm for 3 years until he decided I was a much better artist than anything else and built a studio for me, set me up and turned me loose.
You see, I didn't know a soul here when I arrived. I thought about going home to Oklahoma, where I grew up but where would I go? And with what? I was stuck in Delmarva, experienced my very first hurricane and toughed it out. I met the most wonderful and caring people on the planet here and decided to make this home. It was hard, but I stuck it out. My story in a nut shell.
I need to keep this little studio running but I can't do that without people. I realize I'm not a necessity, I'm not groceries, or gas bill...etc. people don't need me really. But, here I am and I'm using what God gave me to make a living. What do I do you ask? I'm an artist. I teach art. I've been an artist all my life and I can teach art to just about anyone. What I do is give you a fun evening, away from the usual hangouts, for what it costs to go to the movies... including all the goodies you buy there plus....
If any of you kind people see it in your hearts to come in and have an enlightening experience with color, paints ...etc, please do! We all need to help each other in these trying times and maybe I can bring a little joy into your life by sharing my abilities with some of you. Personally, I have no desire to be homeless or live in my car. We spend money on so many things, why not give us a look and come in... ? One thing I can guarantee is that you will go home feeling good and have a piece of art in hand that YOU had fun doing.
We are a very serious little studio. We have a different approach to technique and instruction. If you've ever wanted to learn some basic art skills (or more), then come in, sit down and give us a chance to show you some fun stuff!
I need you K I to stay alive. Won't you please help me keep this little studio up and running? I'm just a woman doing her best to keep this going, so would you please think about something different to do for an evening? Come in, kick back and have an interesting time here at my academy and I promise you a very good experience!
