Please help Homes For Our Troops in their quest to build a handicap accessible home for CPT Ferris Butler on Kent Island. Volunteers are needed for the 3-day build brigade on August 13-15 @ 333 Bentons Pleasure Road, Chester, MD. Non-construction help is needed as well - please contact Doreen Lewis with Homes For Our Troops if you can provide any help at all! dlewis@homesforourtroops.org Thank you! I've signed up as a Master Plumber and will feel honored to help build this brave soldier who gave so much a decent home to live in. I donate my time to the Queen Anne's County Christmas in April program and this is just more of the same, people helping people instead of waiting for a government hand out. God bless America.

My husband and I stopped for a few minutes on friday, what an awesome group of kind people! I must say though the only thing that disturbed some of the few I talked to was that the Sheriff was there with about four other Deputies and he was handing out his cards. Is nothing sacred? Just not an appropriate place to do something like that and I was embarrassed by it.
Yes, there were other politicians there and Mr. Banks also, but they were there for the real purpose and Mr. Banks was not in uniform. My hats off to the local officials and those hoping to be local officials, they were there because they TRULY cared.

What I find embarrassing is the fact that you just couldn't keep from posting your politically-charged comments on this particular thread. Unless you wrote the invitation list, you have no idea why anyone was there or how "truly" they care. Please do all of us a favor and keep your political comments on the Political Board.
