Balto. Fox 45 News Some politicians are trying to change the law to make hand held cell phone use while driving a primary offense. This will give the cops the legal right to pull you over if they THINK OR JUST SAY you are on the phone. If you don't admit guilt the next step will be to give the cops the right to search your car, and your person to find the phone you may not have. Do you want the bad cop to have the opportunity to plant something in your car?........Let me say that most cops are not bad, but the bad cop is there.

The Constitution protects us from unreasonable searches, and seizures. What other Constitutional right of ours do you want to put to rest?.......My friend, you have the right not to read what I post if it bothers you.

I disagree with the law to begin with, but expecting the nature of it being only a secondary offense to save you from police abuse is like expecting gun control to prevent crime. They both will happen regardless of the law.
Idiot drivers are still idiots whether they are holding their phone or using a bluetooth.

Distracted driving includes anything that interrupts your concentration on the road... heck, one of the most annoying distractions to me is the police car with his bright headlights on shining into oncoming traffic while he has made a stop. Plus, how many times have you seen police cars struck by traffic flowing in the same direction? Those flashing lights on the side of the road are a serious visual distraction to oncoming motorists.
And, I can't help but laugh when I see a police officer driving down the road talking on his hand held cell phone! I see it all the time.. but I guess they are exempt..
It's another stupid law. People wreck cars changing the station on the radio.. should we ban radios in cars?
Some people are just poor drivers. Banning cell phone use by these poor drivers has done nothing to protect me from their stupidity behind the wheel.
Any law that has blanket application because of the inequities or criminal activity of a few is ridiculous and any politician who supports such feel good legislation should be thrown out of office.
Just on OF opinion..
Best regards, BC

protecting others is more to the point. if you want to crash into a tree and harm only yourself, more power to you. but leave me out of it. pay attention to your driving when you are driving, period.

I did not think the cell phone law was necessary. Just enforce the laws we have and get the judges to actually penalize people and the problem all but goes away.
But I do find it interesting the pete thinks the officers will be carrying around 'drop cell phones' to go with their 'drop guns' and 'drop celebrity blood.'

Pete, I thought you were once a policeman. Why do you have such animosity regarding police? I think a bad cop can usually recognize another bad cop. Do you recognize the bad cops?

I was making a statement about your thinking there is a conspiracy to do wrong EVERYWHERE!! planting evidence, throw down weapons...come on give it a break! I am all for a persons Constitutional rights. But you make it sound like you think everything is violating your rights...

I wonder how many times pete violated the rights of people when he was a ghetto beat walking, baton twirling Baltimore cop. I'm sure he'll say that he has never violated anyone's rights. It is just him that has been violated.
