I've posted about this in the past.....
Tuesday May 24 early afternoon. No 1/2 gallons of milk.....no 1%, 2% or whole milk. Yeah, Bruce (GM), that was me that asked on way out why there wasn't any.
Today, Wednesday May 25th, late morning. I was there again to get cream cheese my wife needed to make crab dip for boating today. No 1%, 2% or whole milk 1/2 gallons on the shelf. Didn't bother to say anything about it today.
Should have taken a pic, I will next time.

Ask the main manager -- I forget his name, but everytime I have ever had a suggestion, it's always been fixed pretty quickly. Especially tell him that another chain store has it, and he'll be all over it.
Furthermore, maybe the lack of milk issue has something to do with the government taking over a lot of the dairy farms on the shore? Has anyone heard about this?

shame the manager is not on here to see this I've been trying to avoid Safeway its been 2 weeks,,,,, and now Food Lion does not carry the butter we use nor does Acme I just cant win. so I think I will go to Easton's Food Lion. And if there is a issue with getting milk in the store there should be a large memo on their front doors about it.

I hope someone finds out why the shortage on milk in Safeway. Im curious According to sources, Kent Island Safeway is only shipped two pallets of milk per day - despite requests for additional milk! I guess Safeway corporate knows whats best and feels additional milk could go to waste. It seems to me that's why they hire store managers - JMO.

Are they out of milk, or is it just not stocked? That's also what managers are for, if that's the situation.
As others have said, it's usually there, you have to ask.....not the way it should be.
Go to a Wegman's and see if there is ever an empty shelf of any product..........

yeah, it seems I'm a tad late on this topic, but here's my milk dilemma....the only local store that carries the Smart Balance milk that I've found is Acme. Every time I've been in Safeway or Food Lion, they don't have it. I've heard that Acme will be closing by the end of the year - not sure if that's true or not - if so I hope that whoever goes there in their place will carry it. no, I didn't talk to a manager or anybody...then I'd have nothing to complain about here
