Has anyone else notice that the nice are acting a little strang by trying to get in our homes this late in the year. The last time this happen was 3 years ago with Isabel. I think this is going to be a bad summer. High high did Isabel go 7' 4" ? Anybody know the worst storm in Marylands history and high high was the storm surge?

I haven't had a problem with mice, but the bugs are really bad this year, especially the ants. The biggest problem with hurricanes isn't so much the winds, but the bay surges. If a big hurricane ever comes straight up the bay, we are in serious trouble! Isabel was only a tropical storm when it came up, and look at what it did...!

I can't remember if we have been hit? Have we ever had a surge on the island. My house is about feet above sea level. Isabel just missed me

Isabel was only a tropical storm when it came up, and look at what it did...! WOW! You really need to check yourself. ISABELL wasn't a problem with the winds or rain but the surge- we got off EASY that way. The Biggest problems with hurricanes is all 3, wind, rain, surge, You don't know what you're getting, and the fact that you CAN NOT predict them, their movement, until they are ready to show you what they are going to do. Not all hurricanes are Isabell, and Isabell wasn't much count by the time she hit us. Yes we got off easy, a lot of people got wet including me, I had canoes, and buttheaded hummers going past my house. Be ready for it all. Do YOU know what do to prepare for a hurricane? or where to go in your house if you end up stuck there?

I am not from hurricane prone areas, but my apartment is above a garage, but I know I'd probably be trapped if I stayed and then tried to leave! I know that if I knew about a hurricane that had potential to hit us, I would go back to home sweet home and keep my feet dry!
But just in case, if you do get stuck here, what do you do in the event of a hurricane?

NO, it WAS the worst surge in anyone's memory, but there's been worse hurricanes with wind and rain, it was before my time but I have heard about them, The whole east coast is way more populated now, those storms would be way more devastating than Isabell was to us. Hazel? I think was one of them
