My BIL was diagnosed with MRSA, given an antibiotic and sent home, tonight he is in the ER with blisters. He has MS. Please say a prayer for him.
I know every case is different but does anyone have any advice I can pass along?

I had a MRSA, something not to be treated lightly. I'm not sure about the blister thing or the added issue of MS, but a very potent antibiotic is needed. If improvement doesn't happen in 3-5 days, I would seek other medical advice. An untreated MSRA can be fatal.

My nephew had a bout with that and the blisters he received were due to an allergic reaction he had with some of the medication he was given. They adjusted the medication and did some topical treatments and he was fine. Saying a prayer and hoping it is as well with your BIL.

Thank you all for your prayers. His last trip to the ER, the doctors stated exactly as you said Speedergurl, the blisters were a reaction from the medication that he was given. He is now on Prednisone ~ 10 days, the blisters are going away, the itching (from the bites he had which is how we believe he got this thing) has eased up, although he is still tired and he is super sensitive to light. I am praying that the MS doesn't show its face during this mess and he is able to heal quickly without any MS issues arising. Thanks again for your prayers

I am very glad to hear he is on the mend! MRSA is a serious condition, especially coupled with any other disease process that weakens the body's natural healing process. Will keep him in my prayers for a successful recovery!

Sorry its taken me so long to reply. Its been a while since I have been on KIO.
My brother-in-law is doing great! Thank you for asking. We were really scared for a while. The MRSA subsided after the medication, but then the MS kicked in. He had a small bout of tingling and numbness in his leg and foot but that went away fairly quickly. Thank God.
I can't say he is back 100% because it seems with MS it takes a little bit away from you with each spell, however he is doing the best that he can with his disease.
I do use the word "great" because he is very fortunate. He still has all function and is still very capable. He is able to take the MS medicine (not sure what that is exactly) and it seems to keep the disease in "remission" if you will.
It is amazing what goes through your mind when something like this happens and to think this all originally started with a spider bite.[glow=red,2,300](use the bug spray!!!)[/glow] I thank you all once again for your prayers and well wishes
Make it a daily routine: When you wake up in the morning ~ say: Thank You!!
