I saw a guy posting their flyers all over Bay City today. They advertise $18/mo and it includes Recycling services & 2 Brand new wheelable cans for trash and recycling pick up, Anyone have any experience with them??

Bates is pretty big on the western shore. AA, baltimore, etc. They do a lot of food waste composting and they were pretty good with that. I would not hesitate to try them out. WM does a very good job for me, but they don't have recycling and I pay about $85 per qtr. I wonder if they will come further South on the Island. My goal is to get the whole community with one company so we don't have containers on the street all week and trash trucks coming thru the community all hours of the day.

I agree...I live south on rte 8 and on my street there are trash cans every day of the week outside. I also use WM and pay the same. I may see if Bates will come this way...at $18/month it's worth a try.

I am wondering how long they guarantee the $18 per month...Chesapeake Waste is only 58.50 each quarter and I have been very happy with them for the last 3 yrs. Only twice during this time did they have a 6.00 gas surcharge.. they dont have recycling though which would be a plus to have.

I signed up today. You only get 1 trash can and 1 recycle bin. Recycle pick up is only once every 2 weeks.

Is the trash pick up every week? How long is the $18/mo good for? So far I haven't been impressed as they haven't bothered to answer either of the two emails that I have sent them.

Yes trash pick up is once a week. I didn't ask how long the $18/mo is good for. I called, the guy was on the other line so the person I was speaking with took my number and said the accounts person would call me back. He called back in about 20 minutes. I also asked if I could put extra trash out there and they said I could, but if it got to be a lot they might charge an extra dollar or two every month. Not a big deal IMO.

Chesapeake Waste will take just about anything you set out...They are wonderful...and they have never charged me extra for anything...I set two cans out a week plus green bags during the fall. I highly recommend them. I would definately find out how long the $18 per month is before signing on.

Centreville uses Bates - I've never had a problem - I like them - cans make it back to the sidewalk, workers are nice - no trash left laying around.

I have Chesapeake Waste and like them. I did call up asking about the price and they matched the Bates at $18 per month. Worth the phone call to them.

I had chesepeake but they refuse to recycle to i switched to Bates. I got my new trash can and my new reycling can about 20 minutes ago. They said they did guarntee the rate for 2 years for me, looks like it is going to be a great switch

Anyone know anything about Fuel charges? Is that $18/mo going to be $18/mo regardless of Fuel increases?

Is your recycle container the same size as the trash can or just the small crate? I would like to recycle with my trash but I could fill the crate in two days.
