DFC BROCKMAN MADE A TRAFFIC STOP ON CLOVERFIELDS DRIVE LOCATED IN STEVENSVILLE FOR FAILURE TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN. A RECORD CHECK OF THE DRIVERS LICENSE INDICATED THAT HE WAS CURRENTLY SUSPENDED. THE DRIVER BEING A JUVENILE WAS RELEASED TO THE CUSTODY OF HIS PARENTS.

Theft from K Mart

Incident: Theft Date Reported: 04/07/09 @ 1806 Hours Location: 200 Kent Landing, Stevensville, Md. Victim: K-Mart - Stevensville
Narrative:
The Loss Prevention Officer at K Mart reported that he had observed a male subject enter the store pick up a Rubbermaid tub, then placing other items in the tub then leaving it in the Outdoor section of the store. A short time later the suspect returned and placed the tub on his shoulder and left the store without paying for the items.
The suspect described as a Hispanic male was last seen in a dark colored Ford Explorer with unknown tags going towards East bound Rt. 50. The video footage clearly indicated that the suspect had stolen four Sonic Air electric tooth brushes and Oil of Olay cosmetics. The total loss was estimated at $992.00.

Narrative:
Dep. Gardner was in the area of Church Street in Sudlersville and observed a vehicle with loud exhaust and windshield obstruction. A traffic stop was performed which revealed that the driver, Perez-Chilel did not have a valid license. Subject was arrested and charged accordingly.

Narrative:
Dep. Gardner responded to Queen Elizabeth Way in Chester for a reported theft from a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. Sharon Fall reported that she parked her vehicle on 04/08/09 late in the evening. Upon returning the next morning she discovered that someone had gained entry through an unlocked passenger side door and rummaged through the vehicle. According to the victim nothing was missing.

Narrative:
Det. Stephen Stouffer made a traffic stop for an equipment and speed violation on a 1997 Ford van operated by Joseph Nelson Vogelsang. During the traffic stop Det. Stouffer learned that the defendant's driver's license had been suspended. Vogelsang was placed under arrest and a search of the defendant's vehicle resulted in the seizure of four (4) capsules of suspected Heroin. Vogelsang was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was later released on an unsecured bond.

Hand Cut in Incident @ Centreville

Incident: Assault Date Reported: 04/11/2009 @ 0156 Location: 308 Centreville Road Centreville, MD Victim: Dodd III, Franklin of Centreville
Narrative:
Deputy Kellogg was dispatched to a residence on Centreville Road near Centreville, MD to investigate a 911 hang up where the male caller stated that he had "been cut." Upon arrival, she located the subject outside the home suffering from a laceration to his hand. The victim identified another male at the home as the suspect in the assault and that a physical confrontation occurred between the victim and suspect resulting in the victim sustaining an injury to his hand. The suspect denied intentionally injuring the victim with any type of weapon and neither party wanted any further police action. Both appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and appeared to be friends with each other. The subjects were referred to the District Court Commissioner for charges if desired. The victim was refused medical treatment.

Juvenile Driver Flles from Deputy

Incident: Fleeing & Eluding Police Date Reported: 04/10/09 @ 1748 Hours Location: Woodstock Road, Chester Harbor, Chestertown Arrested: Male (16) from the Chester Harbor area. Charges: Driving without a license / Fleeing and Eluding Police / Fleeing Police by Foot Failure to stop at a stop sign / Minor in possession of tobacco products.
Narrative:
Dfc. S. Russell was on patrol in the Chester Harbor area and observed an older model Ford Explorer being operated by a young white male who was not wearing a seatbelt. The vehicle then failed to stop at the stop sign at Drake Road and Rosin Drive. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle using the emergency equipment but vehicle failed to stop and continued to a residence off of Woodstock Road. Upon stopping, the juvenile ran from the vehicle and into a residence. He was soon located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. A search of the juvenile arrest revealed him to be in possession of tobacco products. He was later released to the custody of his mother.

A WITNESS ADVISED THAT HE OBSERVED TWO SUBJECTS THAT WERE IN AND OUT OF VEHICLES IN PARKING LOT NEAR AAP AUTO PARTS AND TRYING TO GAIN ACCESS TO OTHERS. UPON THE ARRIVAL OF DEP. JORDAN HE OBSERVED THE MALE SUSPECT IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE SAFEWAY. DEP. JORDAN ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT THE SUSPECT BUT HE FLED ON FOOT THROUGH THE KENT TOWNE MARKET PARKING LOT. DEP. JORDAN WAS ABLE TO APPREHEND THE SUSPECT AFTER CHASING HIM DOWN OF FOOT. Mr. Turner advised that he had recently ended a relationship and that it may be related.

Both advised that they were arguing and the female was walking and tripped over some boxes in the residence and hit her head. No assault was reported. The female was later taken to the Hospital after initially refusing treatment by ambulance.

Narrative:
Dfc. Goodman was working a stationary radar assignment in the area of Main Street @ Church Circle in Sudlersville, during which time he made a vehicle stop for speeding. While making contact with the driver, Dfc. Goodman detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Mr. Ingram admitted smoking marijuana and having more in the vehicle. A search revealed a smoking device with suspected marijuana and Mr. Ingram was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia.

Shotgun reported missing

The shotgun is described as a Browning pump shotgun with walnut stocks and a Hastings barrel and turkey choke valued at $650.This case is currently under investigation .

DWI Arrest on Rt. 309

Incident: DWI Arrest Date Reported: 04/12/09 @ 2335 Hours Location: Rt. 309 @ Rt. 404, Queen Anne, MD. Arrested: Roger Alan Lewis (53) of, Easton, MD Charges: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol
Narrative:
Sgt. Jones was in the area of Rt. 309 at Rt. 404 and observed a vehicle that was weaving with in it's lane and crossing the center dividing line 1-2 feet several times . The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as Roger Alan Lewis. Subsequently investigation revealed that the driver was intoxicated by alcohol and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. Mr. Lewis was later released to a sober family member.

Unlicensed Driver Chged @ Templeville

Incident: Unlicensed Driver Arrest Date Reported: 04/12/09 @ 1143 Hours Location: Duhamel Corner Road @ Busic Church Road, Sudlersville Arrested: Roberto Castaneda (60) of, Marydel , MD . Charges: Driving a motor vehicle without a driver's license Failure to stop at a stop sign .
Narrative:
Dfc. S. Russell was working the area of Duhamel Corner Road near Busic Church Road and observed a vehicle completely fail to stop at the stop sign. A stop was made and the driver was found to not possess a valid driver's license. The driver was identified as Roberto Castanda who was arrested and transported to the Office of the Sheriff for processing. Mr. Castaneda was later released on an unsecured bond by a District Court Commissioner.
