I was in the Safeway parking lot and watched a QA County K-9 unit pull up behind a small SUV parked in the Fire Lane. The lady that thinks she was more important and parked there to go in the liquor store walked out when the Deputy was writing the ticket. I was so happy that he gave her a ticket that I yelled "Good Job" and gave him the thumbs up right in front of her. For some reason she was taking pictures of him with her camera phone while he was standing there. I would have told her to get back in her car but he was patient, calm and cool about the whole thing. Anyway, good job Deputy!

I know so many people that will pull up to a store in the fire lane to save walking a few steps. Sheer laziness is all that it is. It's just as bad as parking in a handicapped space...

I like that liquor store... I don't know why so many patrons insist on parking in the fire lane, though... rarely do I go in when I don't see some asshat parked there to buy some beers.

Rob.......You say that you would have told the woman to get in her car when she was taking pictures of the Deputy. What would you do if she told you no?

Pete; I would have asked her because she was standing in the middle of the parking lot. She could have been hit by a car. I would have asked her to remain in her car for her safety.

Rob.....You sound like a Deputy.... First you say you would tell her to get in her car. Now you say you would ask her to get in the car for her safety.........My question to you was, what would you do if she tells you no.

I'd pull out my baton and slap her across the head, once for each tire parked in the red zone. Remember, The red zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in a white zone.

Pete; I don't know. What do police do when you don't obey a request on a traffic stop to stay in your car? Probably written another ticket for failure to comply to a direct order from a police officer. Really I could care less. I was happy he gave her a ticket.

Rob.....If the police stop you while you are driving, they have the authority to keep you in the vehicle for safety reasons......The only order you have to obey from a policeman is that of a lawful order. Most of the 1,000 citizens arrested illegally every month in Balto. City for the past ten years, were charged with failing to obey a lawful order of a police officer. There is a multi million dollar lawsuit at this time against B.C.P.D.......If you want the citizens to be mad at you, write parking tickets. Why? Parking tickets are never written at the churches, city hall, or the police station etc. etc........However, I do agree with you, the Deputy was correct in giving the woman the ticket.

Here's an interesting article.
Arundel officer charged with sex offense Rookie accused of photographing teen's breasts BY RUMA KUMAR SUN REPORTER ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED FEBRUARY 20, 2007, 10:42 PM EST A rookie Anne Arundel County police officer has been charged with taking a cell phone picture of himself groping a teenager during a traffic stop, after threatening to jail her for drunken driving if she didn't cooperate.
Officer Joseph F. Mosmiller, 22, is accused of telling the 18-year-old and her female passenger to lift their shirts in the parking lot of a Pasadena church just before midnight Jan. 20, according to documents filed Tuesday in District Court. When the friend refused, the documents say, Mosmiller took the photo and then let the women go. He was charged Monday with fourth-degree sex offense, second-degree assault and two other misdemeanors. He was released Tuesday afternoon on his own recognizance by District Judge J. Michael Wachs...

22 years old, there's a short career with the police department. Too bad. A lot of young officers can't make it past the "I am God and can do whatever I want" point in their career.

WJZ last night said (true or false, I dunno) that investigators were inclined to believe the girl's story since this is not the first complaint against Mosmiller.
I can't stand a dirty cop.

It sounds like he was/is an idiot and used his cellphone camera to take pictures; I think he's screwed, with good reason.

Dirty cop? maybe a bit harsh. I think he's an immature child with a badge and raging hormones. He'll regret this for the rest of his life. Tough lesson to learn, but it will cost him his job if true. As a representative of the law, he needs to lead by example. Citizens look to a police officer to serve and protect, not be the ones the laws protect you from.
