Ok, guys, I had dinner there friday night for their testng phase....and It was fabulous. They still have a few kinks to work out with the servers, but that will happen with experience. The food was good..... The prices more than reasonable. The portions enough for 8 and their was only 3 of us. We got out of their less than 32.00 for the 3 of us and that included a very generous tip.. I only hope that once they open they will continue to be fabulous!!! Oh and the waiting time was very reasonable, as we went when it was packed. Oh and the only complaint that I did have and it's a small one....the fried okra wasn't as crispy as I would like it...cause I want it almost burnt....but it was very good regardless. I am happy!!! CN11 I hope your experience on Monday Morning is just as good if not better than my experience last night!!

Was my invitation lost in the mail? Yeah, mine too, one thing I find interesting, I've been to a couple pre-opening tests, not once was I charged. It was testing/practice for the store staff.

I thought this was quite interesting. My son, who is in high school has a friend who, along with his older brother and sister are spending the night in their car in the Cracker Barrel parking lot to make sure they are first in line when it opens at 6:00 tomorrow morning. WOW...they must LOVE the food..or maybe want to get their picture in the paper!!!! It is gonna be a cccold night! I am jealous!

Well.............. We arrived around 0545. We were probably in the 75-80 people deep range. A lot of high school aged kids keeping the crowd entertained. Doors opened right at 0600. Maybe took 10 mins. to get a seat. Normal "First Day" for any restaurant. They had a lot of "Corporate" staff on hand to help out. One of the managers took our drink order after maybe 5-10 mins of browsing the menu. The KI Gen. Manager came around and took our food order, from what was described as a "Scaled Down" menu. Full CB Menus will be released shortly. As expected with over 80 - 100 orders hitting the kitchen all at once, the food took a little longer than usual. The drinks were kept full and we were eating by 0700. While waiting we did see 2 tables get up and leave, complaing about the wait. Hope they went to Holly's and ate that "Fine Swine". Food was "Good". Not "Great" or "Bad". Give it a try. Remember they are new, and the bugs WILL be worked out. But if you LOVE to COMPLAIN all I can say is GO NOW!!!!!! I am sure that SOMETHING will provoke you. Chickennecker11 is now HAPPY. I would like to take this oppurtunity to THANK all that have supported me in my countdown quest for the CB opening. Now with Cracker Barrel and the Truck Stop at Hardee's, Route 50 sholud be getting it's "Interstate" Rating. Have fun ;D

My daughter said Kent Island has turned into one big truck stop. HAHA! My son's friends spent the night there to be in line. That is crazy! I have never ate at a CB so I guess that is why I am in no rush to eat there. I can wait until things cool down. But Hubby is very excited about it opening.

I'm cracking up that people are spending the night and waiting in line to eat at a Cracker Barrel! Their food is good -but so is a lot of food on the island. I just hope some of our local places make it (B & B, Chesapeake Family, etc.).
Any feedback on the CB store? That's what I like most about it!

I have to say that Kent Island did make an impression. One of the corporate managers who has been with the company 13yrs and opened 19 stores, said she has never seen a line at the door. This is the first time they have ever had that happened. So you can imagine the kitchen being flooded with all those food tickets at one time...very overwhelming. The store was very nice, the food was good and it is only going to get better. I did not mind waiting because my coffee cup was always full. Looking forward to my next meal..

We went this morning around 9:30 the service was excellent we actually had 3-4 servers helping us. Our coffee mugs were never empty and the food was great. The gift shop really has alot to offer if you know any john deere lovers they have a great selction of stuff. Also if you know anyone who is having a baby they have some really cute stuff. I am looking forwards to dinner there next.

Now if we can only get some healthy places to eat. Panera Bread.
We are starting to look like a Truck Stop. Boy they would rather have fried food places than nice housing communities.
Oh, I am not against CB for breakfast only..

I hope everyone's meal turns out good but...
I don't understand what all the fuss is about. Just like any Applebees, Ruby Tuesdays and the like, Cracker Barrell food is all frozen and made in a packaging plant somewhere. There isn't any chef or cook back there making the food like "mom use to make" unless "mom" made a lot of frozen dinners. They have to cook the meat that is ordered but even chicken nowawadays comes frozen with all the seasoning and you can quick fry it in 6 minutes.
If you want your green beans to taste like pork, put some bacon fat in the water your cooking them in.
I have worked in a lot of restaurants and with a food manufacturer, so I am not making this up.
I hope that your meal turns out good and that you don't have to wait that long.
