OK, my bad, I did say something about CB food in general that I forgot, I said it was plain and not fresh. I said nothing about it being frozen or where it comes from. The person you quoted about prepackaged frozen food was barbt not me.
And no, "not fresh" does not equal "frozen".
To answer your question, yes I do think that people will spend thousands and millions on frozen food.

Amen to that bchevy. Thanks for proving my point, Ruben, by naming two places that serve a ton of frozen food and make millions of dollars.

Okay...I finally had nerve to go to CB...took my 9 year old son with me. Let see....we arrived at 11:10 am.....were seated right away....food was in front of us at 11:30. Son got the pancakes with cherries and whipped cream on top...he said they were good...he also got and egg and bacon...bacon was okay...cooked a little too long...he never got to the egg. I got two eggs (asked for the white part to be cooked with a runny yolk) waitress told me that was called "over easy"...duh...white of eggs was not cooked..and I thought of the "snotty egg" remark in another thread..joy...bacon was cooked too long..Coffee cup was never empty....oh and the gravy for the bisquits...definatly did NOT like it...and I got grits with my breakfast....they tasted odd. So if I had to compare CB with Hollys...I would chose Hollys for breakfast...but my son would go to CB because his pancakes were so good. Soooooooooooooo....next time I am going to get the chicken fried steak...I know I won't be disappointed with that. Oh..and our waitress...was GREAT! Barb

Does CB still have waiting lines? Grandchildren (5 & 7) are comming for the weekend (all the way from Centreville) and I thought we would take them there for dinner. Is it worth it? How is their gift store?

It's all in the timing, I know of a couple that hasn't waited yet in 5 trips to CB.

I went with hubby the other night. I had stopped going because I wasnt pleased. We got there about 1715, were seated right away, sat 15 mins before someone (the manager) came over asked if we had been helped yet. "No sir we haven't". He grabbed the 1st waitress he saw. Our order was out in 10 mins. I got the stew which I will say was pretty good. Bread bowl was fresh too. Never got a 2nd cup of coffee or the water with lemon on the side that was asked for when the meal was brought. Thanks but I think Ill still skip going there. The gift shop is like all gift shops. High priced for what they have.
Personally Id make the trip off the island to take the family somewhere for dinner. Cant say Im impressed by whats out here in the way of resturantes. Sorry!

Tried it for the 1st time this week, 5min wait and we were at our table. Waitress Samantha greeted us within 2-3 mins took our drink orders, 2-3 mins we had our drinks and a plate of biscuits (very good). She was back within 5 mins for our orders; chk-fried steak, stew bowl, chz burger, food was out to us in 10 mins. The food was as good as I expected, very filling. The bill was about $32.00 and we left a 20% tip, so for about $40 you couldn't beat it. Good experience.

I finally made it there twice. The food was good but the service was definitely no more then adequate. Both trips ordered items were forgotten and the second trip in the food took forever. There wasn't even a wait to sit down that night.
