I just ate at Cracker Barrel in Virginia, a couple of days ago. I hadn't been there since I was a young child. Oh, my goodness...talk about delicious!!! I had chicken and dumplings, sweet potato casserole, green beans, turnip greens, Cole slaw, mac and cheese, hash brown casserole, and chicken fried steak. Mind you, I ate there TWO days...this wasn't all in one sitting. I am scared for them to open because I will put on like 50lbs if I am not careful! I was very impressed.

ok even though I love the CRACK... I hafta tell ya.... they cook home cooked stuff, but it isn't homecooked style. Everything on their menu is processed and full of sodium. I'll go there because my southern born husband is already standing in line (it is closer than the Waffle House), and like I said, : I love the Crack." but I can't help but wonder if I wouldn't be better off buying the stuff and cooking it at home. Same fatty stuff less processed and sodium.

I can't help but wonder if I wouldn't be better off buying the stuff and cooking it at home. Yes, you would be. Everyone would be. *struggles away from the keyboard before I can start my well-known anti-cb rant..*

I wonder if the sodium content of the food contributed to this?? I guess I'll have to test that theory out when they open here. I sure hope not because I can't cook like they do!!!!

I love shopping at CB. They have some really unique stuff!! Me too. I got a really neat "Americana" birthday gift for a friend of mine. It was in the 50% off area..but...a really different find that will be unique, at least til they open here. I was like a typical tourist...I took all sorts of pictures inside the store at CB. It gives me the feeling of being a young kid again. They carry some of the old candies from years, and years ago. We all got a pack of "Pop Rocks" and sat outside on the rocking chairs after we ate, and enjoyed the "popping".
