Cracker Barrel is the only place I know of where you can get consistently good food at reasonable prices. Can't wait until it opens.

Man, you guys sound like you are "jonesing" for CB! ;D I can just picture opening day of the restaurant. It will be like the Academy Awards. The media filming, flood lights on the place, autograph seekers... There will even be chairs specifically set aside with individual name tags placed on them for, chickennecker11, shoreterp, Frank, LPJ, Dude, Baycityfambly...

They do have good food - and a cute shop as well - especially for holiday items. Being an Alabama Alumni - - I am particularly glad to know I can get fried okra and orange cream soda if I want it! Now if I can just find Moon Pies.

Now if I can just find Moon Pies. Mmmm... fried okra! (Food Lion has it pre-battered in the freezer section but it's just not the same as what mom used to make...) Does anyone else think it's kinda' funny that they built the place on top of an old rundown trailer park? Think we could talk them into putting a car on blocks and an old refrigerator out front? For old time's sake I mean... ;D

I have to agree that the Cracker Barrel shops are nice, though we're not always as pleased with the food. I'd also like to suggest that folks, if they are going to shop for holiday gifts, also consider our fine little gift stores and antique places right here in Queen Anne's. Many of the gift items offered in those stores are unique and made locally by talented artists, who live and work right here. And I'd say many things (if not all) offered in the Cracker Barrel store are items not produced here. Just a thought, that's all. (I plan to be there to check it out, too.)
